Week Thirteen at Harmarville
Week Thirteen
Day Eighty-five...
August 27, 2003
Hi all.....
This will be another short email.
Thanks to all you who were praying for me yesterday. I had a WONDERFUL day
!!!! I hope the kids did too.
Please continue to pray for Greg. I went up there after school yesterday.
He was a bit out of sorts. I think he's kind of lonely, worried about the
future, worried that his physical progress is slowing down, concerned about
being kind of "confined" to one room (basically underground) in the house,
feeling disconnected from his kids..you can imagine. It has been amazing how
good his spirits have been all this time. He knows and trusts that God will
make this way, but sometimes the day-to-day stuff can be very hard.
Also pray for Francie as the time for Greg's release approaches. She's got
a lot on her plate as well. She's still trying to find a personal assistant.
She tries to get up to see Greg and still be home for the kids.
The therapists here say that things usually go much better than what you
imagine when the patient actually goes home. Pray that it is so.
I guess this wasn't so short after all.
Blessings,
Connie

Day Eighty-six...
August 28, 2003
Hi All.....
I ran up to see Greg after school today. He said that therapy was fairly
routine today except that in hand therapy he and Jan noticed some more finger
movement, this involving his thumb. It's slight, but there.
Lisa Kriger and Pat Eichenholtz came to visit tonight and brought
dinner...compliments of BIG WES. It was nice to get to visit with them and
helped us pass the time.
So far, Greg is still scheduled to leave on September 4th. Tomorrow he has
to answer questions about his care and medications in the staff meeting. Dr.
Brenes wants to make sure that the patients can direct their care and know how
much and how often they need to take their meds. They also need to know the
contraindications. Anyway, Greg is very knowledgeable about his condition, so
I'm sure he'll do well.
If there's no rain, he plans to be at the football game tomorrow night. If
not, he's home on Saturday, Sunday and Monday anyway. Up and back since he's
not allowed to spend the night at home.
I understand that there was some painting going on at Greg and Francie's.
It's unbelieveable how many of you have given time to help. What a blessing you
all are. Thank you.
Blessings,
Connie

Days Eighty-seven, Eighty-eight & Eighty-nine...
August 29, 30 & 31, 2003
Hi All.....This is just a quick note to remind all of you that Greg is scheduled
for release on Thursday, September 4. You will recall that our buddy Barry
Fasenmyer suggested that we might do prayer and fasting that day. Here are the
details again.
Pause in your daily activities for a joint moment of prayer for Greg, Dr.
Brenes, and everyone at Harmarville at noon on the day Greg is released,
followed by a call to fasting and skipping lunch that day.
Here is one prayer, though you certainly may pray as you feel led.
Father God,
I lift my voice in prayer to you to ask for your continued healing power for
Greg Euston and all of your children at the Harmarville Rehabilitation Center. I
pray for them and I pray for their families during this season of their lives.
Father, I lift my voice in prayer to ask for your continued wisdom and guidance
for Dr. Brenes and all of the doctors, nurses, therapists, and staff at the
Harmarville Rehabilitation Center. It is through your power that they are able
to care for your children and it is through your miracles that they are able see
the healing results.
I thank you Father for all that you do and all that you will do in my life, and
the lives of all who I pray for today. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
This is just a thought, and could be followed by the lunch time fast. For those
who would fast, I would suggest reading from Acts during that time to witness
how God gives incredible power to perform miracles to his people.
Also, please don't forget to keep praying for the many others we have added to
our list.
Blessings,
Connie

Days Ninety & Ninety-one...
September 1 & 2, 2003
Hi All...
I talked to Greg and Francie tonight. It looks like Greg may be staying
another 2 days ..until Saturday. Stay tuned, I'll let you know for sure. This
will mean that the fasting and prayer will be postponed as well. I should know
for sure tomorrow.
Please pray for this new phase. Greg is going from being one of many in
wheelchairs and dealing with disabilities to frequently being the only one in a
particular situation.... restaurants, shopping, amusement parks etc.. There are
many new challenges to face for all of us. Just everyday things that we took
for granted before.
I know that it's easy to become complacent in prayer. I pray that we don't.
I pray that God continues to do his mighty work. Please know that your prayers
and notes and visits and calls are just as important now as they were in the
beginning. Thank you for them.
Blessings,
Connie
